SMI’s engineering team partners with each customer at the initial design stage. The goal of these early efforts is to formulate a design that maximizes part cost efficiency, durability, and aesthetic appearance. Suggested designs incorporate innovative attachment features for increased ease of system assembly. Our in-house tooling capabilities enable SMI to construct the precision tools necessary to bring these designs to fruition.

Equipped with a variety of forming equipment, SMI can produce highly aesthetic components up to 5’ x 9’ in size. The majority of SMI’s facility is dedicated to heavy gauge pressure forming and twin sheet forming with additional capabilities in vacuum forming and high speed thin gauge forming (packaging). These capabilities allow SMI to utilize the right process for the unique demands of each project.
